One reason I love California!

It was a beautiful December Day in Sunny California today so we decided to take advantage of it by going to play at the beach.

Some people like to build men out of snow.  We like to build them out of sand.  Here is our Sand Man!

Our Weekend fun.

Last weekend was filled with so much fun.  First of all, on Saturday morning my niece Katie and family came for a photo shoot.  It was so much fun playing with her kids.  Naomi came over for some of the action too.  The photo shoot turned into a tea party which my kids thought was a blast!  They had fun playing all day out in the front.  All this while Evan kicked off his first Tithing Settlement season as Bishop.  Oh what fun!  In the evening we all met up for a fun night of decorating our tree.  Here are some shots of the Cowan Family.

After the Cowans left the tea party went on.  It went on all day.  The kids had a blast bringing food out to the front yard and playing.  It is amazing how long pouring water into cups can entertain children.  And once Piper put on that red tutu she had to have it on all day.  In fact she has insisted on wearing it everyday since.  She loves it!

Saturday was our night to put up the tree!

Ellie is holding some ornaments that our neighbors gave us when she was born.  It is fun taking them out each year and hanging them on the tree.

If you are wondering why there are paper plates hanging from our tree, well that's Max's creation.  If you know Max you know he is constantly making stuff.  When he found out it was Christmas time he whipped up these ornament to hang on the tree.  I am thinking of getting him his own Etsy Shop. What do you think?

Piper decided to put on a show for us and it's Gracie's turn to put the star on the tree

Oh what fun we had.  Claire decided to make sugar cookies and frosting from scratch.  That provided us fun with decorating the cookies

Thankful for our Thankful Tree

We have so much to be thankful for.  I am especially loving our tradition of having a Thankful Tree.  Each day (or almost everyday) in November each person gets a leaf.  They write their name on one side and something they are thankful for on the other, then they hang it on our tree in the center of our kitchen table.  The blessings they have written down range from guacamole to Heavenly Father's plan.  It is truly fun to listen to what the kids come up with each day.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I am Thankful for Family Time

With the kids out of school all week, we decided to go have some fun.  We went to Lego Land.  We had a great time squirting each other from the Pirate ships, cruising on the sky cruiser, being eaten by a lego shark and Max even got his Driver's license.
